Who we are
VOYCE Bocconi Students (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the Milan chapter of VOYCE — Voice of Youth for Change in Europe — a pan-European youth think tank, run by students at Università Bocconi. We decide how and why the personal data described here is used, which makes us its data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
You can contact us about anything in this policy at asbvoyce@unibocconi.it.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to voycebocconistudents.eu, to the application form on our Join Us page, and to emails you send us. It does not cover other websites we link to, which have their own policies.
The data we collect
When you apply to join
The application form asks for:
your full name;
your email address;
your programme and year of study — optional;
the commission you would like to join;
a short answer on why that commission interests you;
confirmation that you have read this policy.
We also record the date and time you submitted the form. The form contains hidden fields that help block automated spam; people leave them empty, and they hold no information about you.
When you email us
We receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write.
When you browse the site
We see anonymous statistics about how the site is used: which pages are visited, which website referred the visit, and the language and time-zone settings of the browser. These statistics are produced without cookies and without any identifier, so they cannot be linked to you.
Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address in order to deliver pages to you and to protect the site against abuse. We do not use this data to identify visitors.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
To assess your application and contact you about it — this is necessary to take the steps you ask for before you become a member (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
To reply to your emails — our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)).
To understand how the site is used, through anonymous statistics — our legitimate interest in improving it (Article 6(1)(f)).
To keep the site and the form secure and free of spam — our legitimate interest in protecting them (Article 6(1)(f)).
To keep or disclose information where the law requires it — compliance with a legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not make decisions about you by automated means. Every application is read by a person.
Who can see your data
Members of the VOYCE Bocconi Students board involved in reviewing applications.
Framer B.V., Rozengracht 207B, 1016 LZ Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which hosts this website and receives and stores form submissions on our behalf as our data processor.
Università Bocconi, which provides our @unibocconi.it email service, for emails you send us.
Public authorities, only where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the European Economic Area
Framer may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, where some of the servers it uses are located. It relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on other safeguards recognised by the GDPR for these transfers. Framer’s privacy statement, at framer.com/legal/privacy-statement, explains this in detail.
How long we keep it
Applications: until the selection round you applied to has ended, and for no longer than 12 months after that. If you become a member, we keep your name and email address for as long as you remain one.
Emails: for as long as we need to deal with your message, and for no longer than 24 months.
Visit statistics: these are anonymous and contain no personal data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
have inaccurate data corrected;
have your data deleted;
restrict how we use your data;
receive the data you gave us in a portable format;
object to our use of your data where we rely on our legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights — including withdrawing your application — email asbvoyce@unibocconi.it. We will reply within one month, free of charge.
If you think we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or to the authority in the EU country where you live or work. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Do you have to give us your data?
You do not have to apply. If you do, we need the required fields in order to consider your application; your programme and year of study are optional.
How we protect your data
The site is only served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to applications is limited to the board members who review them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top of it.
